Outgoing Ogun State Head of Service, Tpl. (Mrs.) Amope Chokor has been described as an intelligent and committed Civil Servant who displayed professionalism and a high sense of responsibility in the discharge of her duty.
Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe gave this description when the Head of Service paid her Ministry a farewell visit at the Agency’s Conference Room, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, calling on Civil Servants to emulate the seasoned administrator by dedicating themselves to working effectively to the benefit of the State and mankind.
Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Mr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola described the HoS as “a quintessential example of devoted service and veritable example of integrity, who worked at different agencies without any blemish”.
Responding, the Head of Service, Tpl. (Mrs.) Amope Chokor appreciated God Almighty for the opportunity given her to serve, calling on the State’s workforce to reciprocate the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration’s worker-friendly policies and programmes by being disciplined and devoted to the course of the State.
Describing the Ministry as “key to the success of the present administration” Tpl. Chokor charged the workers to be hardworking and do their jobs without looking for immediate gains, stressing that they should commit themselves to contributing towards the Ministry achieving its targets.
Meanwhile Tpl. Amope Chokor during her visit to the Ministries of Agriculture and Forestry, has implored Permanent Secretaries and Directors to assist their subordinates and encourage them through trainings and tutelage.
“Thank you all for your supports since my appointment as the Head of Service. I am seeing improvements in your service delivery. I encourage you to be more diligent and put in your best so as to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture on welfare to public servants”, she said.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina described the outgoing Head of Service as a peaceful, transparent and exemplary person, who gives instructions, institutional support and direction, to both Civil Servants and cabinet members, while praying for God’s continued guidance, he said the vacuum created by her retirement, would be missed.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Dotun Sorunke and his Forestry counterpart, Alh. Abdulateef Benson described Mrs. Chokor as soft spoken, sincere and perseverant, who patiently cross checks facts and reads between the lines.
