CIVIL SERVANTS CHARGED ON DEDICATION, HUMILITY

Civil Servants in Ogun State have been charged to continue to imbibe the sense of dedication and humility in the discharge of their duties, which were sterling qualities that would distinguish them.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Kayode Ademolake stated this in Abeokuta during a send-off organised for the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Forestry, Mr. Dolapo Adewunmi, who will be retiring on Thursday, October 10, 2019.

Engr. Ademolake, who described Mr. Adewunmi, ‘’as a man of integrity and impeccable character”, said his immense contribution has contributed to the development of the Civil Service and the State.

He commended him for his enviable approach to work, as well as his good relationship with colleagues and subordinates, charging him not to relent in service to humanity, even in retirement.

Responding, the retiring Permanent Secretary appreciated Government for given him the opportunity to serve, admonishing members of staff to be upright and dutiful, as well as synergise, so the Ministry could achieve more feats.

Speaking earlier, a retired Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Lateef Owodeji said Mr.  Adewumi, was a leader with a listening ear, who is always willing to lend a helping hand to members of staff, irrespective of their status, adding that members should adjust their ways in order to attain a leadership position.

Also speaking, Directors in the Ministry of Forestry, extolled the virtues of the Permanent Secretary in their separate remarks saying he played an impactful role by harmonizing tihe members of staff, which is fulfilling and a cause for a worthwhile retirement.

Mr. Dolapo Adewumi, joined the Teaching Service Commission as a Master Grade II officer on 10th October 1984 and later transferred his service to the Civil Service Commission as a Principal Personnel Assistant IV on 4th February, 1991 and rose to the post of a Permanent Secretary on Friday, April 12, 2019.
