CHIEF IMAM, ILARO POURS ACCOLADE ON GOVERNOR ABIODUN AT 60

Chief Imam of the Ilaro Central Mosque, Headquarters for the Ogun West Senatorial District, Imam (Sheik) Tajudeen Mustapha-Adewunmi has showered encomium on the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his numerous achievements within one year in office, and for evenly distributing appointments to the three Senatorial Districts of the State.

            Speaking with pressmen in Ilaro, the Islamic scholar, while congratulating the Governor on the occasion of his 60th Birthday, described him as a friend of Muslims in the State, praying that God would continued to guide and protect him, his family, as well as members of his cabinet.

            According to him, “the Governor is so friendly with the League of Imams and Alfas in the State, like his predecessors, and we are very happy. He has truly demonstrated that he is a friend and lover of Islam, and we prayed for Allah’s continued blessings over him and his entire family’’.

            “My advice is that his administration should try as much as possible carry out people oriented projects such as; good roads, quality education, accessible good health facilities and others; all these would be of immense benefit to us all”, the Chief Imam stated.

            Imam Adewunmi also commended the State government on its effectiveness in tackling the Coronavirus pandemic in the State, particularly, the urgent creation of isolation centres across the State, as well as distribution of palliatives to indigent in the State, to mitigate the negative effect of the lockdown order.

            He advised religion leaders in the State to support the Governor with prayers, to enable him concentrate and provide quality leadership that everybody would benefit and be proud of, urging Muslims to demonstrate and adhere to the principles and lesson acquired during the just concluded Ramadan fasting.

            The Chief Imam implored everyone to be conscious and mindful of the day ofjudgment, adding that, “the Coronavirus pandemic was a signal from God and a yellow card that we must all be careful and have the fear of Allah’’.

            In the same vein, a Pharmacist, who is also the Chairman, Building Committee of Ilaro Central Mosque, Alhaji Mukail Lawal, joined well-wishers to congratulate Governor Abiodun on the occasion of his One Year anniversary in office and 60th birthday saying, “the first thing that attracted me most to the Governor was the renovation of the State Hospital, Ilaro, and upgrading the facilities to a modern one, within a short period of his tenure as Governor. I am very sure that his administration will put smiles on faces of the people of Ogun State’’.
