As part of efforts at improving the standard of living of its citizenry, Six Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Apakila community, are to benefit from the World Bank Community Assisted Project worth over
N9million, through the support of Ogun State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA).
The General Manager, Ogun CSDA, Engr. Sakirudeen Salaam disclosed this during project launch and a day traning for Community Project Management Committee (CPMC) in Apakila community, Odeda Local Government Area of the State.
Salaam said the Agency in partnership with World Bank is supporting the Community with the construction of one block of two class rooms, a staff office and a borehole facility scheme worth over
In addition to this, the GM said, the State Government and the World Bank, would make provision for the extension and distribution of power supply worth over
N2million for the people residing within and outside the community.
He advised the CPMC to judiciously utilise the money given to them, saying, “you should be dedicated, transparent, committed, work in unity and speak with one voice, as these will go a long way in sucessful implementation of the project“.
In his remarks, the Chairman, CPMC, Mr. Abidemi Kuforiji appreciated the World Bank and State Government for the opportunity given to them, promising to do everything within their means to achieve positive result.
Also speaking, Chairman, Ogo-Oluwa Kemta Apakila CDA, one of the six beneficiaries Mr. Irewole Takeet urged the government to continue to venture into micro project, adding that it would improve the living standard of the people.
