A call has gone to students who are academically sound, to assist their colleagues with deficient in their studies, to enable them have equal opportunity and a brighter future.
Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota, made the appeal in Abeokuta, while receiving in her office, students of the Ambassador’s College, Ota, who did the State proud at the National Mathematics quiz competition, held in Kastina State. ,
According to the Commissioner, assisting one another by coming together to review class works, was a means of contributing and building a greater future for the betterment of the larger society.
Mujota who noted that the State had always been known for excellent performances, as testifies in its first four top positions in the last Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination, urged the young ones to see their performances as the starting point to their future attainment.
Speaking in an interview shortly after the visit, one of the participants at the competition, Igbal Emmanuel, attributed their success to hard work, resilience and prayers, thanking teachers and management of the school for their support and encouragement which he said contributed to the success.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Mujota has said that government would continue to appreciate the partnership of cooperate bodies, individuals and organisations, towards improving the standard of education in the State.
She stated this while receiving a car donated to the School for Children with Special Needs, Ijebu-Ode, by Omo Obanta Association of DC MD, USA, a Community Association in Ijebu-Ode, based in the United States of America.
