Ogun State Head of Service, Tpl (Mrs.) Amope Chokor has charged members of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, to be the vanguard of transformation and growth in the State public service.
Mrs. Chokor said this at the 37th induction ceremony for Administrative officers in the State into the Institute, at the Obas’ Complex Auditorium, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, urging the inductees to be prepared for the task ahead and come up with suggestions that would enhance better performance in the service.
Speaking on the topic, “Human Resource Transformation in the Public Service” the Head of Service, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Matters, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, said transformation would not come, except people were determined and prepared to pay the price and make sacrifice.
She encouraged employees in the public service to take-up responsibility of updating their knowledge and skills, while allowing their titles reflect in the quality of service rendered to the people.
In her lecture, the Guest Speaker, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun advised administrative officers to be process and insight driven, enjoining them to be agent of change and improve on the way things are been done, so as to experience greater transformation in the public service.
