AMOSUN CHARGES CITIZENS TO REVIVE TRADITIONAL CULTURE

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has charged citizens of the State to take steps aimed at reviving African traditions and culture that are gradually being replaced by western life.

Amosun gave the charge at the just concluded third Edition of the African Drum Festival, held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, said government was taking necessary steps towards reviving African culture, as exemplified by the hosting of the drum festival.

He said the drum festival would expose many talents, both individually and collectively to the international community, affirming that people have a lot to benefit from the festival, ranging from employment opportunities, talent discovery to socio-economy development of the State.

Also speaking, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi said ‘’the Festival would boost economy of the State and improve the culture of states in the Southwest, urging the people to support and embrace their culture as ‘’culture is meant to develop any nation.’’
