The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has approved the appointment of Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, as the acting Chief Judge of the State.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa, stated that the appointment would take effect from Tuesday, 28th August, 2018, following the retirement of the incumbent Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Olatokunbo Olopade, who bows from active service tomorrow, Wednesday 29th August 2018.
According to the statement, the new acting Chief Judge, who holds a Bachelor of Law Degree (LL.B) from the University of Buckingham, England, attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in July, 1981.
It stated that Hon. Justice Dipeolu started her legal career, as a Pupil State Counsel with Lagos State Ministry of Justice between August, 1981 and January, 1985, she was appointed to the Bench as a Magistrate in 1991.
The statement added that the acting Chief Judge left the Lagos State Judiciary in December, 1991 and was engaged in private practice until November, 1995 when she was appointed as a Chief Magistrate 1 in the Ogun State Judiciary, where she rose through the ranks to become a High Court Judge in May, 1999.
