ADENEYE CHARGES YOUTHS ON NATION BUILDING

Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Adedayo Adeneye, has charged youths to re-assert themselves and ensure that their collective impact and values was felt in the rebuilding mission of the present administration in the State and in particular, in the change mantra of the government at the centre.
Adeneye, who gave the charge while receiving the executive members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State Chapter, who came on a familiarization visit to his Oke-Mosan office, said, Nigerian youths must rededicate themselves towards the development of the country and be more proactive at taking up the leadership challenge.
The Commissioner said there was need for youths to be more enterprising and be the change agents, especially now that the country was yearning for change, adding that, there would be a time when the older ones would no longer be active and relevant in running the affairs of the country.
“We cannot continue to leave decision making to the older ones, so the need for our youths to brace up for the leadership task so as to collectively build this nation. It is quite disheartening that some of our youth now engaged in cybercrime instead of finding ways of being useful for themselves and the nation at large.
‘’It is high time we change our orientation by depending solely on government to provide the wherewithal for us. We on our own part must also contribute our own quota to assist the government achieve its aims and objectives’’, he stated.
Earlier in his remarks, Ogun State Chairman, NYCN, Comrade Adeleke Adebajo, appreciated the State government on its support towards youth development in the State, adding that, the State government has set record in all aspects, including the recent move of the State Television (OGTV) from analogue to digital which according to him, worth commending, saying his council was ready to give necessary support toward the rebuilding mission of present administration.
Also speaking, the organizing Secretary of the council, Comrade Dotun Opaleye, notifies the Commissioner of the proposed leadership summit slated for March 15 and 16 this year at Odogbolu Local Government.
He said the summit tagged ‘Odogbolu 2018’ was geared towards bringing the youths across the State to brainstorm on the development of the State, soliciting the support of the State government towards the successful hosting of the summit.
