Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Information Officers in the Ogun State Ministry of Information and Strategy have been urged to remain committed to ethics of fairness, balance and accurate reportage, so as not to further heat up the polity.
The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Dayo Adeneye who stated these while addressing Information Officers at the Statutory Tuesday weekly meeting, held at the Governor’s Office Press Centre, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, cautioned them not to allow themselves to be used by any political party, as the 2019 elections approaches.
According to him, ‘’your loyalty lies with the State Government. We should not forget our core responsibility as Information Officers or Government image maker, so you should not allow yourself to be used for any political gains.
‘’Let’s dig it deeper as we move to the second quarter of the year and do not relent in your efforts at projecting the programmes and policies of the State government at all time’’, he said.
While appreciating the management staff of the ministry for their diligence and hard work, Adeneye enjoined them to continue to work in harmony in order for the ministry to achieve its set objectives.
